"Pegasus Warning has an ability to shapeshift through many mediums: percussionist, vocalist, writer, producer, performance artist, visionary. His sound similarly takes on the most unlikely of forms, straddling the line between funked-out mutant R&B, experimental rock, stunning to-the-gut soul, “broken electronics, strange textures and pulsing rhythms” -NPR
"Pegasus Warning’s sound was the right kind of shambles, full of left turns and quick stops and obvious reference points beaten to a pulp, all delivered with a sense of joy in the process of figuring things out. Expertise and tradition are just one kind of instrument.” – New York Times
“Step into a territory that’s been heavily trodden recently – R&B fractured with rock and avant-garde influences – and make it as intimately personal as a fingerprint.” – SPIN
"Pegasus Warning is a horse-powered cautionary tale to the sound-boi wannabees. Get your melodies up!!" Saul Williams
"Fearless pioneers beyond the shuffle are few and far between. At this point I feel like I've worked with a lot of talented people but I've never met anyone who CHANNELS quite like Guillermo. He's one of those people that will throw out art because he needs to. He's not trying to fit in with some bullshit trend. Also .. And it's not a small also ... Give the boy some hickory and he can smack the glory out of it and sing ? G can pipe the Shite out of a melody. Raw power. Listen ..
If real music is the hitting the right notes at the right time, Guillermo is the real music. He's always in his own time but our Time is about to catch up with him.
About time I say. I've always been a fan !!" Jamie Lidell
Pegasus Warning aka Guillermo E. Brown currently features every night on the Late Late Show With James Corden as the drummer in Karen, the show's house band. Guillermo's main project, Pegasus Warning, is a supernova of experimental R&B and soulful synths conceived while touring with Jamie Lidell.
Since then, Guillermo’s dynamic visions have prompted collaborations with artists such as Twin Shadow, Das Racist, Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, Saul Williams, Mocky, Spoek Mathambo and many more. His transcendental live shows have graced residencies at The Ace Hotel and Bowery Electric, headlined renowned venues like Brooklyn Bowl, and commanded the stages of Terminal 5, The Brooklyn Museum, The Roxy, El Cid, and more.
After a year-long hiatus, Pw is set to release a new batch of work in June this year under his own imprint, Melanin Harmonique Records.
The album will be preceded by "Come Close" single which is out now.
