Five Dials magazine and Hamish Hamilton proudly present their first single: the 10" dub remix of Hollis Hampton-Jones's novel, Comes The Night. For this one-off audio experiment, Hollis is backed by Ryan Norris, a member of the Nashville-based band Lambchop. The result is a swirling, moody epic, cut with static, with a fugitive melody or two smuggled into the mix by producer Roger Moutenot, who has previously worked with luminaries such as Yo La Tengo, Lou Reed, even Run DMC. Audio books have never sounded quite like this. 

On the flipside of the 10" is an exclusive remix of the Lambchop song 'Gone Tomorrow', taken from their recent album Mr M, in which the slinky alt-country band is transformed by — dare we say it — something resembling a house beat. Will it sound good on vinyl? Will it ever.  

This is Five Dials 001, the first record in our storied history, and while we don't need to make records, we believe that some records need to be made. This is one. The cover features new artwork from Seattle-based Nat Damm, who's also drawn visuals for The Jesus Lizard, Duran Duran, Slayer, Sonny Rollins, and many others.
