Kraftwerk created the soundtrack for the 21st century digital age. Pioneers in electronic music and an endless source of inspiration for a wide range of musical genres: from Electro to Hip Hop, from Techno to SynthPop, they have made musical history and attained worldwide recognition spanning more than four decades. Since their beginnings in the early Seventies they have tirelessly worked with the latest modern technologies, produced revolutionary electronic "sound paintings" and experimented with synthetic sounds, voices and automatic mechanical rhythms. They composed sound poetry with highly condensed texts and programmed their robot image as an expression for the theme of a world dominated by machines and computers.

Kraftwerk will perform at Club To Club their 3-D concert series "The Catalogue – 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8": a chronological exploration of Kraftwerk’s sonic and visual experiments that presents eight classic master works from across their celebrated repertoire with spectacular 3D visualisations and effects. Combining sound and images, the performances showcase more than four decades of musical and technical innovation, including new improvisations, 3D projections and animation. Commencing with 'Autobahn', each night covers two of Kraftwerk’s groundbreaking studio albums in full, following the order of their release, alongside additional compositions from their back-catalogue. 'Autobahn' (1974), 'Radio-Activity' (1975), 'Trans Europe Express' (1977), 'The Man-Machine' (1978), 'Computer World' (1981), 'Techno Pop' (1986), 'The Mix' (1991) and 'Tour de France' (2003).

The multimedia project Kraftwerk was founded in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider within the experimental art scene of the late Sixties in Düsseldorf. They set up their legendary electronic Kling Klang Studio where they composed and produced all the groundbreaking Kraftwerk albums. From the very beginning, Kraftwerk regarded their concert performances as complete audio-visual events. The Kraftwerk sound and image has been a long-term influence not only in music, but also in the world of contemporary visual art. Texts, style, and media-reflective strategies incorporated the themes and issues of the information era, namely the interaction between men and machines. The Catalogue – 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 is presented in Italian preview with Officine Grandi Riparazioni (OGR), the artistic and technologic research hub and venue that will host the shows, with Club To Club.

The ever popular New York-based Chilean musician and producer Nicolas Jaar, presents a live performance drawing on the material of his recent album ‘Sirens’, a release that confirmed his position as a key player of this decade's electronic music scene with its unique mix of synthetic sounds, jazz, classical and psychedelia that describes the fragility of democracy by revisiting Jaar’s family history.

The master of minimal techno Richie Hawtin challenges the distinction between dj set and live with “CLOSE - Spontaneity & Synchronicity”: the artist will be surrounded by an array of modular synthesizers and analog gear, followed by live feed cameras that record his movements to reinterpret them as abstract forms, bringing the audience closer to Hawtin’s intuitive improvisation. CLOSE blurs the boundary between man and machine, tearing down the barriers between performer and audience.

The Venezuelan musician, producer and singer Arca (who has worked for the likes of Bjork, FKA twigs and Kanye West) makes a return to Club To Club. His third critically acclaimed self-titled album released by XL Recordings will be the core of the live performance, enhanced by the surreal visuals of Jesse Kanda.

Moreover, the new edition of the festival presents the extreme sound challenge posed by Ben Frost, the Australian Iceland-naturalized musician that recently scored the soundtrack to the Sky tv-show “Fortitude”; a concert by British electronic scene veteran Bonobo, who recently released his moving sixth album “Migration”; the Los Angeles sax player Kamasi Washington, whose collaboration with Kendrick Lamar and prodigious album “The Epic” earned him a leading position in the new jazz scene; the promising 21-years-old producer Mura Masa, who is about to release his debut album, featuring Damon Albarn and A$AP Rocky among others.

The #C2C17 programme is an in depth exploration the subterranean musical turmoil and the most innovative music scenes. In this regard, the presence of experimental producer Jlin is key, who in her latest album “Black Origami” was inspired by the encounter of spirituality and movement; KÁRYYN, the American composer of  Armenian-Syrian descent who recently released her dazzling debut EP “Quanta 1”; and Visible Cloaks, the Portland-based duo that reimagine Japanese ambient and pop as in their newly released album “Reassemblage”.  The shape-shifting Canadian producer Jacques Greene will be presenting material from “Feel Infinite”, his long awaited debut album which effortlessly mixes house, bass, hip-hop and R&B.

Finally Actress, who recently released an astonishing new body of work - “AZD”, and Amnesia Scanner, the captivating and futuristic sounding Young Turks duo, make a welcomed return to Club To Club.
