ALYUSHA is a progressive, esoteric vocalist and producer drawing influences from both her Japanese and London roots.
Since emerging from the shadows earlier this year, 2016 has turned out to be a big year for ALYUSHA. Following her UK and Europe tour with Submotion Orchestra she released her second single "Paradise" with Linden Jay. “Paradise” debuted on Dummy Mag and charted at number 2 on Spotify’s ‘Global Viral Charts’ on her own label Tsuru Recordings and was only a taste of things to come for ALYUSHA.
Last month, she performed at Afropunk with ‘ghetto-futuristic’ artist Gaika and featured on his single "The Deal" released on Warp Records. She is now taking back the centre stage with “Moshi Moshi”, ALYUSHA’s first release demonstrating her prowess as an innovative producer. Mixed by Grammy nominee Alex Evans, ALYUSHAH's unique, experimental production style for “Moshi Moshi” is a hybrid of futuristic-trap and is a perfect synthesis of her Japanese roots combined with industrial sounding sonic landscapes inspired by her city, London.
Born to Japanese/ British parents, ALYUSHA has a rich musical heritage and a unique sound that has seen her put in a similar space to the likes of Bjork, Massive Attack, Yukimi (Little Dragon) and Yolandi (Die Antwoord).
ALYUSHA will be headlining XOYO on 29th November. Prepare to be mesmerised by the juxtaposition of her sweet, sultry voice with dark, heavy basslines, and the drama of her mere presence on the stage. This will be a powerful all-female lineup with ALYUSHA being supported by Saint Clair and Thandii.
